Rudolph The Pissed-Off Reindeer
the original christmas classic on kk

Produced by Alchemist Theatre Productions

This live production blends elements of everyone's favorite, animated Christmas special with the suspense and drama of The Usual Suspects and maybe a bit of Dragnet.

Who is smuggling illegal, dangerous toys covered in lead-based paint to the mysterious "Island of Misfit Toys?"

How will poor Rudolph, with his brightly glowing deformiy manage to fit in to society?

And who will lead Santa's sleigh tonight?

Find out all of this and more!!

This is Patrick Schmitz's first full-length production, though he is an accomplished comedian, lead instructor at First Stage, actor and all-around great guy!   Patrick has organized the wildly successful "Sketch 22" improv festival and has aided in the formation of several of Milwaukee's most exciting improv comedy groups.

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
The classic Rankin/Bass Rudolph special was always a favorite of mine growing up.  I enjoyed the simple message of acceptance.  Although the story is a heart-felt one, I always was shocked by the amount of cruelty towards Rudolph simply for having a red nose.  I've always wanted to spotlight the horrible actions made by the adult characters (who should know better). There also seemed to be a lot of loop holes to the story: Where did Yukon come from?  Which way does Hermey swing? And how does Sam know this whole story if he wasn't there?  The beauty of making this into a comedy was that the original story line already had so much hidden humor in it already – I just embellished it to an even more ridiculous level.  This whole process has been a lot of fun from the beginning and I want to thank everyone who has helped out along the way.

RUDOLPH: THE PISSED-OFF REINDEER

Yes... Rudy is back!
Many of you remember that part of the excitement of the holiday season was brought by the anticipation of the claymation holiday shows such as "Rudolph."
And now some of that excitement is back in live form on stage!

Patrick Schmitz who wrote and directed last season's sold-out production of "Rudolph: The Pissed-Off Reindeer" is bring the show back to The Alchemist Theatre!
Much of the stellar cast remains the same with the addition of even a few more "heavy hitters" from the Milwaukee comedy scene!

Patrick himself is a lead improv comedy teacher at First Stage. He also organizes the wildly successful "Sketch 22" comedy show that pops up throughout the year - a one-act comedy festival that is written and produced within 22 hours!
Patrick is also a co-producer of the crazy Milwaukee Comedy Festival which brings comedians from around the country to Milwaukee for a thrilling and hillarious couple of days!

And what about this talented cast?

Here are JUST A FEW of the many talented comic actors in the cast:
(more to follow)

Joel Boyd – Rudolph
Joel is a founding member of the extremely successful "Scoot's Schticks" comedy group, a member of "Organized Chaos" and now also brings his talents to the constantly sold-out "After School Special" comedy group which takes suggestions from the audience and creates a comedic scene with the feel of the cheesy after school movies that were meant to teach valuable lessons.

Anna Wolfe – Clarice
Anna has been involved with theatre for over seven years and has performed with "Organized Chaos" and is now a founding member of "After School Special" comedy group. Anna uses her cute, innocent demeanor to sneak up close to your heart before unleashing witty and sometimes biting comedy.

Andy North - King Moonracer
Andy is a powerhouse of improv comedic brilliance. He has tackled a variety of roles from bringing Tesla back to life at the successful and long-running "TESLA" at Discovery World to Dr. Seward in The Alchemist's "Dracula: The Undead." He is a member of the improv comedy group "Meanwhile," performs with Annoyance Theatre in Chicago and has just recently unveiled a hilarious stand-up routine.

Jeremy Eineichner- Sam The Snowman
Jeremy is a member of MUTES - the comedy group that brings hilarious, black and white silent films to life on the stage, on the street or in the middle of a festival! He has recently portrayed Renfield in "Dracula: The Undead" and recieved much acclaim for his portrayal of Sam in last season's production of "Rudolph."

Beth Lewinski - Mrs. Claus
Beth is a member of "Meanwhile" comedy group and a favorite draw at Comedy Sportz where she now serves as the first female ref. Beth has most recently brought her wonderful comic timing to the dark and scary "Dracula: The Undead" where she interacted with the audience, allowing them to giggle a bit before returning to the horror of Dracula.

Lee Rowley - Detective Bass
Lee is a founding member of the improv comedy group "Meanwhile" as well as one half of the two-man comedy group "Leerick." Lee regularly performs at Comedy Sportz and his unique comedy talents always receive high marks.

Melissa Kingston - Mayor of Christmastown
Melissa is a member of the always successful and hilarious, all-female comedy group "Broadminded." Melissa is also a key player at Comedy Sportz and has brought her directorial insight and comic instinct to Sketch 22.

Vince Figueroa - Yukon Cornelius
Vince brings his outstanding voice talent to "Rudolph" through the completely insane Yukon. Vince currently works at Newsradio 620 WTMJ as a Producer and Voice Talent. He is also a member of the comedy group "Meanwhile" where he often brings a multitude of odd characters to life.

Nevin Langhus - Fireball
Nevin performs with "Organized Chaos" and the wildly successful teen group "After School Special." Nevin brings believable teenage angst to the reindeer character Fireball and helps to introduce Rudolph to a world that fears and shuns the "different."

Fjosh Redbeard - The Bumble.
Fjosh is the bumble.
The bumble is Fjosh.
A wild animal with crazy hair and ferocious growls who, once you get to know him, will be the first to help you put a star on top of your christmas tree.

Kevin Gerrity - Charlie In The Box
Kevin is a student at the High School of The Arts and a member of "Organized Chaos" at First Stage as well as a student at "Second City" in Chicago. Kevin also brings his talent to the comedy improv group "After School Special" as well as dabbling in extremely satisfying stand-up comedy.

Joe Foti - The Foreman
Joe is a very busy actor and director working with groups throughout Milwaukee in various capacities.
Joe adds dimension to the gruff elf foreman who's unforgiving attitude causes Hermy-the-elf to run away.

Tim Higgins - Coach Comet
Some say that Tim IS Comedy Sportz. His wit and humor has made him an exciting force in Milwaukee comedy. Tim is a member of the always-wild "Midnight Show" that takes over the Comedy Sportz stage every saturday night.

Aaron Kopec - Dectective Rankin
Aaron is one of the of the owners at The Alchemist Theatre and doesn't really do much comedy... which is why he is cast as the bitter, old cop who is driven to lock up Santa for smuggling illegal toys through Misfit Island. Not much of a stretch, really.

Alex Grindeland - Hermey The Elf
Alex is a drama instructor and long-time comedic performer. He has performed his locally famous stand-up routine throughout Milwaukee - ending each performance by kicking himself in the head. Alex is a member of the comedy improv group "Meanwhile" and uses his improv and comedic skills to bring Hermey to life with the same wide-eyed innocence and jerky movements as the original character who may or may not be homosexual.
